Programme Overview

The Five Day 'PAL' Youth Leadership Intensive is a fantastic option to engage all participants in project leadership. This intensive programme develops young people's skills in team working, leadership, planning, and time management. It also assists with building motivation, self confidence, and social skills and competencies.

Participants work together on a project of which they take complete ownership of, supported and guided by a facilitator and the candidate workbook. The ‘Leader’ designs and plans the project, the 'Assistant Leader' aids the Leader to ensure that the project runs successfully, and the 'Participants' take part in the project and start to learn the skills required to become a creative leader. The Leader has 36 active hours with the team to pull their exciting project together. The week will culminate in a presentation of the planned event.

Programme Content

Throughout the five day intensive programme, students will work together to produce a real or fictitious project / event. The leaders will take complete ownership of their projects, supported by a CEI facilitator and assistant leaders of the group. The programme culminates with a presentation of the creative project which can be demonstrated as a mock event or as a creative project. See below for an outline of the three levels involved in CEI's 'PAL' Youth Leadership Intensive.

Participant

Level 1 • Ages 5-19 Years

Participants will have responsibilities within the development team of a new project. The Team Leader will oversee the Participants progress to create a one off, manageable event, product or progression of a new idea/scheme within a community.

Assistant Leader

Level 2 • Ages 12-19 Years

Students will undertake the role of assistant leader for a project. The project will be designed to facilitate an event, product or progression of a new idea / scheme within a community. The assistant leader will take on more responsibilties than the participants, supported by the team leader.

Leader

Level 3 • Ages 16-19 Years

Leaders are responsible for the design and facilitation of a project to realise an event, product or progression of a new idea/scheme within a community. The project is to be used by the Leader as a ‘pilot’ for a possible longer term initiative that could be taken forward in the future.

Programme Faculty

The 'PAL' Youth Leadership Intensive is essentially managed by the team leaders of the group, CEI provide a facilitator to oversee and support the leaders when needed. This gives the leader a real sense of how to lead a group of people in a project. Each of our faculty members are carefully hand selected from our pool of highly experienced performers and teachers. All CEI educators are trained specialist within their field of expertise and have exceptional abilities to deliver their craft to students.
